Looking at putting this winch on to the jeep......Only this is it seems to be stuck!!

So is it useless or can it be fixed, the Clutch lever will move up and down but I can seem to release the cable!!

Anyone have any experience with these??

There is power going to it but it may need a new solenoid

The brake is probably seized inside the drum or grease has gone hard in the gearbox, could take a bit of pulling to get it to unspool.

TBH unless you are only doing light pulling, 6000lb isn't man enough for a big jeep, that looks a particularly puny motor too. They are simple enough to pull apart though. It's a cheap Chinese copy too (although most winches come from there now)

If you do want to keep it, get an Albright solenoid.

Winch and Recovery are doing particularly good deals at the moment http://www.superwinch.ie/#/other-brands/4534215977

Just from looking at your photos, are you missing one of the small sun gears that run round the centre shaft?
