    Sup guys.

I've been going to the gym, doing weights and trying to build strength since October of this year, and it's been going well for me. However, since I finished college in early May, I haven't been to the gym at all, and due to exams I couldn't give fitness proper dedication before that. At the moment I feel less and less fit as days go by and I want to stop that by setting myself up with a home gym since I have no other means of working out due to there being no gym in my area.

Since I'm only a novice lifter, I won't be needing that much, but I'm still finding it hard to find equipment for sale, be it in classifieds or online, so can people point me to where I can find them?

Before I finished college by lifts were 70kg Bench Press, 120kg Squat and 130kg deadlift, so I'll obviously need a lot of weights to progress over the summer, I was thinking maybe 160kg for a start, and I might pick up some more when I get to that stage.

We currently have a ****ty bench at home, so I'm thinking if I progress in my bench some more, this bench won't hold much so I may need a new one to allow me to progress.

For deadlifts, I don;t think there's any need for any equipment, and the same for squatting (My dad's a mechanical fitter so I can get him to set up some holders for the bar)

So I'm going to need: A Bar, preferably a 7ft one, since I'm used to it, but if a 6ft one is better (well better value) please let me know.

140-160kg in weights, depending on what bar I opt for.

A bench, decent, but not over the top.

And maybe some dumbell bars, since I'm asusming the weights would work for both.

Anyone have any suggestions with regards to where I can find these?

would second irish lifting. I bought a pull-up bar from them, nice blokes, and the only place I could find in Dublin. Have heard recommendations of them from various ppl

    Cool thanks, will do.

Had a quick look on there, and saw that their iron weights are a lot cheaper than their rubber ones. Is there a downside to buying the iron ones? My setup will most likely be outside in our shed, so I'm worried about rust if I pick up the iron one.

http://d8fitness.ie/ have been good for any dealings I've had. They don't have a bench though which am currently looking for.

I'm no expert, but from experience of gyms, the cast iron ones don't seem to break/ crack as easily as the rubber ones. Though, that may depend on the surface you're dropping on them.Rubber ones often come with handles which is handier.

Again, this could depend on the particular rubber/ iron plates I've used.
