We all have days when we fancy a treat or some comforting food.

I love lasagne for the comfort food and for a naughty weekend nibble, a bag of those Walker's Extra Crunchy with a bottle of cold white wine.

What's your go-to food when you need a treat?

A whole pizza with all the toppings followed one of those cinema bags of peanut m&m's. Then I have a cry in the shower after.

Jaffa Cakes, original or LIDL/ALDI alternative. Could happily survive off them if all other options ran out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,821 ✭✭✭fussyonion

Oh I'm a Jaffa Cake fiend and used to only buy McVitie's but Aldi's version are just as nice!
I won't buy them very often 'cos I'd scoff the whole box :D

Ah here, that's ridiculous. At least try to make something yourself, it's cheaper and tastier.

For me, there's loads, but my current favourite is garlic & chilli prawns mopped up with a baguette. Cheaper and tastier than a bloody hot chicken roll anyway.

Edit: Just added cherry frangipane to the list. 40 mins from cupboard to table and it cost €5.

I've got chocolate... when can I expect you?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,754 ✭✭✭Itwasntme.

If I am feeling low and I need a pick-me-up, it's copious amounts of strong tea with an entire factory of McVities hobnobs.

If it's just a screw-the-diet meal, then it's garlic cheese chips. I always feel sick after these - like I have coated my tongue and mouth in solid lard and suffocated my arteries as well. :(:(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,043 ✭✭✭MurdyWurdy

Savoury: Eddie Rockets chicken tenders, cheese fries, chocolate malt and a big diet coke

Sweet: choc cake or pudding with cream or a mars bar with a big glass of cold milk. The chocolate has to have been in the fridge too.

    This thread is dangerous!
