Oil Heating taking too long

Hi I have 18 Rads off my oil boiler, I always had trouble with the balancing as two of the rads never got heat. I did my best to balance and now am getting good heat to all rads. Only problem is that it can take 30 - 45 minutes before all rads are getting heat. So oil needs to be on for over an hour to heat the house. One thing I have noticed is the pump is set to III from a three point scale. Would it be pumping too fast ? Also would the thermostat be too low ?

    Any advice please.

More than likely the other way round, pump could be too small. House that size should have at least a 25/60 pump. Check your pump to see if it is a 25/50 or a 25/60.

Check that the circulating pump is pumping in the correct direction, have seen a few wrong way round causing a very slow heat up time

All I could find on the pump was 25/7

Boiler is proberaly not tuened up properaly, if flame is not right or set to small its like boiling a big pot of water on the cooker with the flame turned down low, It will eventually heat but take forever and use a lot more fuel, you proberly need a proper service.
Then saying that, boilers are like cars, some are very efficient and some are not, like mpg. on a car. You will save money by getting a professional service and advice. Also boiler might be to small for the house you need min 120-150,000 BTU boiler again it's like a car if it's a big car with a small sized engine (The Boiler) then it's often heavier on fuel. Hope this helps. MD

Is there a balance valve in your cyclinder?
