Micra k11 1997 not starting

    Hi all. I've a 1997 k11 micra. She'll start and run grand, then I turn her off and it won't start until I take out the plugs and clean them take the fuel pump fuse turn her over with the foot flat on the floor put the plugs back in and off she goes. Any ideas please.

    I'd be starting by checking the coolant temperature sensor.

    How long are you starting it for though. On jap cars of that era if you start them for only a few seconds and then turn them off again they are prone to the flooding you are describing.

    Thanks for your reply, It's not a jap import. But she has been lying up for the last 6 months. Ill check that sensor and see.

    there is two sensors,one with two wires- is only for dashboard readings, you have to look for one with 1 wire, thats temp sensor for ecu. they actually resides beside, just hard to get them off.

    the single wire sensor is for the gauge its the 2 wire one that goes to the ecu.

    Sorry, you're right, my bad, mixed up them . thats 2 wire sensor for ECU , cost around 15 euro in local motorfactors,

    actually you may check it with tester, on resistance, it has to be very big difference between when cold or warm. cant remember what figures was , when hot, it has to be 800 ohms , when hot,and when cold something 4000 ohms. but those figures has to be checked, as i cant remember, was working on micra 2 years ago.
