    Hi Everyone!

Hoping to get married in Malta in the summer of 2014. Has anyone gotten married in a sandy beach ceremony in Malta? If so where?

Also has anyone had their reception in a seaview location or even in the Radisson Golden Sands?

All help, advice & recommendations very welcome!

    Hi OP,

Myself and my fiancee also set our hearts on a sea-view / beach wedding. Malta was a country we had never been to, but we decided to go with it after researching some options. We met with a wedding planner when they were visiting Ireland and have since traveled over to Malta to pick a venue.

First of all- there aren't many sandy beaches in Malta. It has a largely rocky coastline. That said- you can do a proper beach wedding in some places. We got the impression that this wasn't really pushed though.

We went to see The Edge venue at the radisson and it was very nice indeed. Outdoor gazebo structure with a lovely sea view, no beach though. However, after looking after some other coastal venues our planners brought us to see an inland venue, just to clarify our minds...

It opened a total can of worms as we discovered an absolutely breathtaking venue located in a vineyard. We then decided to go with that rather than the seaview! So, not too much in the way of advice I suppose- but Malta is gorgeous. Do your research with an open mind and you will find a great venue!

there are very few sandy beaches in Malta. the only two I know of are Melieha bay and Golden Bay. Melieha is a tourist resort and has a main road running right past the beach. Golden Bay is lovely, much quieter and there is a Radisson Blu hotel there and I believe they do weddings. Other than that, choice of sandy beaches is very limited, but having said that there are some beautiful fishing villages with gorgeous little harbours etc, so in terms of picturesque locations, Malta has plenty.

We are trying to book a wedding for Malta in August 2014 but its causing us a headache. We have booked the venue in the hotel we are staying at but our tour operator cannot guarantee that we will get married that day. They say that the Judge may not allow that date and it cannot be confirmed until 6 weeks before the wedding day. We have guests wanting to come who just want to stay for a week or a few days. If they were to leave it until we knew the date then the hotel we are staying in may have been booked up. anyone else had this problem and anyway around it. thanks
