The final of the Spanish Cup tonight sees Madrid's two biggest teams go head to head.

I'm really struggling to imagine a way Atleti can win this one. Their record against Madrid is so poor, and Madrid have home advantage too.

That said, I wouldn't have given Wigan a hope against City.

Football can be full of surprises.

Lets hope tonight is one of them.

    Aupa Atleti!

I'd love Atletico to do it tonight. But they always fall short against real

Well there's probably the best goal line clearance I've ever seen.

I've no idea how this is still 1-1. Real have bossed this second half.

Think the ref is losing the game here

Everything been given to Atletico now

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,547 Mod ✭✭✭✭Amirani

That's perhaps the last time Mourinho will sit on the Madrid bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,016 ✭✭✭✭klose

Yep, ref has lost it. Everything is been given

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

    Did Ronnie lash out there?
    Or was it accidental?

    Edit :Wow that's twice now.

Any word on what got Mourinho 'sent off'? Simeone's been out of his box - both metaphorically and literally - for most of the game. It can't be simply stepping outside the technical area once. José, I assume, had some smart comment to make to the ref. Mind you, the ref's proving to be a bit of a basket-case, so it may have been something made out of nothing by him.

Courtois is fantastic. I think Chelsea should consider replacing Cech next season.

That red was coming. Ronnie lost the head ages ago.
Ahh Pepe, you just have to join in don't ya.

Its why i hate the league alot, grown men falling to the ground like they are shot

Yes it happens in other leagues but La Liga is the prime leader in the category

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,996 ✭✭✭Duck Soup

    It's officially gone mental.

Courtois hit by a missile .

Absolutely farcical officiating, the players are no better.
Only slightly less of a joke than the typical El Clasico match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,000 ✭✭✭wonderboysam

takes a brave man to throw a punch at pepe!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,944 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Pepe being Pepe. I thought the Ronaldo incident was a red even though Gabi did not cover himself in glory.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    pathetic antics from everyone.

awful advert for Spanish football this...from the ref, to the players, subs and coaches.

    Pathetic from Gabi.

You'd swear he was hit with a .50 cal in the face.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

Gabi taking the absolute mick here, he fouled Ronaldo and then threw himself on the ground and rolled around as if he'd been shot and he wasn't fecking touched.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,996 ✭✭✭Duck Soup

I don't think Ronaldo's boot connected - although that's largely irrelevant to whether Ronaldo gets sent off - with the Atletico player at all. A fresh air boot out and the guy goes down like he's pole-axed. Then the whole place goes ballistic. Nasty, cynical stuff all round.

Spanish football has more head injuries than the NFL :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,016 ✭✭✭✭klose

    Crazy scenes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    this has gone mental.

the appeals there are utterly pathetic.

This could go into overdrive at the final whistle.

It was the wind created. . .

    Yeah, that's pretty pathetic.

Real Madrid have absolutely zero class. They're a disgrace of club.

Jaysus who'd want to be a referee
