Work Experience Treatment

My first day of work experience:

Me: "Hi, I'm here for work experience".
What everyone heard: "Hi, I'm here to do the worst aspects of all your jobs for a week while you treat me like a two year old".

Was it the same for everyone or am I the only one? Please share your experiences.

Today I got told that to distinguish between a coke and a diet coke I had to look at the labels.

Oh does this bring back memories..

I really enjoyed mine (I missed it, I actually missed working for free!). At no stage should you be treated like a two year old. That's just lousey. Try and be friendly with the staff, obviously!

Take some initiative and make it worth while. If you have a question askm

They shouldn't be giving you work that is pointless. If you feel this is the case try talking with your TY coordinator and changing your work experience placement.
