Tax / USC Refund as a reuslt of non residency

    Hi

After 9.5 years in Ireland and a redundancy - I moved back to the UK in January this year. According to revenue website I was able to claim tax / usc refund for non redundancy earnings throughout January as I would not be classed as resident in the state as was only there for less than 30 days. I have stated to Revenue that I am not considering returning to Ireland to work and have since got a job in the UK and paying PAYE here.

However even though my letter was clear - I did get a refund but it does not appear to be a full amount earned. A letter from Revenue said that I got a refund up to end of April and should I not find a job that I can apply for further consideration. I have replied via email saying that I was claiming on residency not because I am not working.

Should I get a full refund for Tax / USC for this period please in addition to refund on medical expenses from 2012?

I appreciate I can also claim for top slicing on my redundancy payment if applicable at end of this year.

Any help and advice welcome please.
    Liam
