Nexus 4 red light

Anyone know what this is about?

My phone was on about 25% battery, I charged it from my work PC and within about an hour, maybe less - it went to 99%.

Went out for a lunch break a bit after and then when I went to check it the screen wouldn't turn on. Turns out the phone is dead. Completely dead.

I've plugged it back into the PC to see if it was the battery but now where the notification light is I'm getting a red light.

I've read online that this happens if you've lightflow installed, but I don't...

Same thing happened to my brother last month. He said the phone was broke and wouldn't turn on. I tried plugging it in and and a red light came on. I waited a few minutes and it turned it on and it hasn't been a problem since.

Just came back on there a minute ago but it says the battery is at 0% even though less than 3 hours ago it was over 90%.

Have you tried holding volume down button and power to turn on the phone?

I had a freeze a while ago on mine, that was the only way I could reset it, it's only a soft reset so you won't lose data...

Had a similar issue on my Nexus 7 and that did the job but not this time with the Nexus 4 unfortunately.

Try it in your wall charger for a while, the old charging from USB can be finicky at times depending on cable, USB speed etc....

Yeah it was at 0% too when I turned his back on too. He said it was half full when it switched off and he kept it plugged in for a few hours. As above use a wall charger.

Charging it now in the office to give it a bit of life. Will stick it into the wall when I get home and see how it works.

my phone stopped working the other night after the battery went down to 0%

I have tried the volume down and power together for any number of combinations, plugging in the usb cable while holding the buttons, plus letting it charge for a few hours, but to no avail

    any advice?
