Had a grope of one over in Morocco (not the doofer) and talked to the guy who owned it - he'd nothing bad to say about it but had gotten it secondhand for very cheap. To be honest it seemed quite light and while i didn't inspect the glassing too closely i'd be hesitant about buying a new one (especially if it's off the shelf; more so if it's online) for fear that it wouldn't hold up.

Why not go to a local shaper - Glide in Cork does a great board based on the rusty dwartt that would fit the bill perfectly; think he still has a demo model available which has been around the block a few times and still holding up strong. Plenty of other shapers around the country that you could go to with this board in mind and chat about what you're looking for.
