Hope somebody can help me out hear. I need to replace the drum seal on my washing machine but I am not sure how to do it. I got a replacement seal from shomar ltd but it seems to be bigger than the original and will not fit. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

To be honest chances are you are doing it wrong. You will find plenty of videos on youtube to help you out. This is no easy task for a first timer. you may need to call in someone who really knows what they are doing.A washing machine is never dead, even if you have it plugged out,as the capacitor in them hold a charge of electricity even when plugged out.My advice again is pay for a proper and safe job.

I can't find one single video on youtube that shows how to put on a stainless steel drum seal.I had to fix a hole in the drum first with epoxy at the point where the 2 drums meet which I think has made this impossible. I should have brazed the drum holes which would have kept them flush. Ah well I'll know the next time.
