I'm thinking of buying a house in the greenfort lawns area of clondalkin, does anyone have any idea of what the area is like? is it safe? a good area to raise kids? any help would be much appreciated

Greenfort has a rough enough reputation, best bet would be to scope out the area yourself at various times of day and night and see what you make of it yourself.

No harm in calling into Ronanstown Garda Station and asking their honest opinion of the road on which the house you're interested in is located.

Rule of thumb for Clondalkin is try and find a suitable house in your price range that is closest to Clondalkin Village,as the areas surrounding the village tend to be more settled and prone to less hassle.

I've lived in clondalkin village for a few weeks with a mate, in thornfield square just off watery lane, isn't the nicest place, windows kept getting egged, neighbours car was robbed and found burnt out down the road and the place got very dodgy some nights.
