    Slowburner,

That is soo cool, gives a chance for those who probably won't get the chance to see the real cave.

    Cheers.

I was told last year by a pal from UCC that the number of visits to the caves has been drastically reduced because of 'walk-in' pollution. There was a talk about them being closed to ALL access for the next hundred years to assist in their long-term preservation.

Many cave locations are under threat from this form of pollution.

So thank you, slowburner, for highlighting something that I doubt that ANY of us will ever see.

I may be wrong tac but i seem to recall that the caves have been closed for years
To the public..breath vapour etc.damaging the paint and that most people dont realise they are being shown around an exact reconstructed copy.anybody confirm praps?

Ah, sorry, I thought you meant to the professional archeologists, not the general public. Yes, they have been closed to ordinary oiks like me for many years now. Pal Drew was talking about them being closed to the professionals.
