Petrol powered appliances

Due to a severe shortage of survey threads in recent days (only one on the front page now) I have decided to make one that I doubt has been done before. It is hard trying to come up with an original one and although its possible that someone will dig up a similar one from years ago I have at least tried to come with a survey thread that hasn't been done before.

A good while ago I was talking to someone who insisted that most people don't own any. Being a culchie I find this very hard to believe as I have loads of them myself (12 or 13 I think) and most people I know have a couple. Even people living in apartments will probably have a Jetski sitting around that hasn't been used since 2007 or a mini quad bike for their son and people living in a semi-D in an estate probably have a lawnmower and a cheap hedger for cutting one shrub.

So do you have any petrol powered equipment? - not cars now. Cars don't count. Did you pick up a generator in Lidl this week or a hedger in Aldi the week before

Ya, a generator that I ended up with after an auction. It was started once when I bought it a year ago and never actually used. Stupid impulse buy

chainsaws strimmers dirk bike.. off the top of my head probably a few more just can't think. Bit silly that someone would insist nobody has them, they were the standard for years, and are still far superior to electronic ones bar the cost of petrol

Indeed. You pull the cord, quite like a lawn mower, and off to heaven you go!

I pulled on the cord but I got something completely different and a lot more messy.

You got a different one, I see. So many varieties of petrol powered vibrators these days. I've only got 5... Hmm.

You need to run the gas off the electricity and the electricity off the gas.

    Lead causes sterility.

    Petrol used to contain lead.

It was used as a anti-knocking agent :pac:
