Interesting. Shannon Airport similarly used GAA stars when promoting its Summer schedule. Is there some way that Knock snaffled the Galway GAA, as Shannon just had some model?

It suggests where they are each targeting. Knock looking at Mayo (naturally), Westmeath, Donegal and Galway. Shannon looking at Tipp, Kerry and Galway again. It points to some of the overlapping catchments. Presumably, Cork Airport would also target Tipp and Kerry.

I find it does raise that question of viability for some one of the three. Can Shannon find a viable market, with both DAA/Cork and Knock drawing customers from the same pool? Presumably, being State owned, Cork Airport might be 'encouraged' to lay off competing with Shannon. But Knock is quite clearly taking them head on.

    Interesting times.

I'm not sure how you can use star and GAA in the same sentence.;) But that's just my prejudice.

Galway people are in the happy position of having an airport an hour to the North another an hour to the South and Dublin two hours away and with a direct bus service. Clearly Knock realises they have a choice and are targeting them along with the surrounding counties.
