Hi, I am 23 next April and I am desperate to study General Nursing in UCC.

However, it says you have to be 23 on the 31st of Jan of the academic year.
Is there any way around this?

I would be 23 by September 2014 academic year.

It seems ridiculous to me to be quite honest if I will be 23 before the September entering the course.

So far there is no way round this that I've found and I have looked. Even if your birthday was Jan 1st the Dept of Ed will still not consider you a Mature Student till the following year. And yes, I have seen it happen.
