Can someone explain how to convert kg/hectare to bag/acre when applying fertiliser?...for example when the smart guys are telling to spread say 250kg CAN /hectare, how do i calculate the rate to spread in old-fashioned 50kg bags/ acre...is it as simple as dividing 250 by 2.5 to convert hectare to acre? ..nope, that give answer of 100...Jeez, just when you've got it sussed....

1 hectare = 2.47 acres. Say 2.5 acres for simplicity.

Divide the amount in kgs per hectare by 2.50, to bring it to kgs per acre.

Divide the kg per acre by 50, to bring it to bags per acre.

Then, if you were near me, you would get a helicopter to spread it, caus not even a quad, could travel the land this evening:o

Have you seen MT Cranium. Cold Nor'easter coming down the line. Words "heavy drenching", in there as well!
I stopped reading at that point.

Ah theres a better thread over there with a more promising outlook and you can fast forward the weather for 8 days to see for yourself. It was a beautiful day here up until 7pm then we had a shower but wasnt that bad,

    Where are you?
It's a savage day here today?
Wind howling in the chimney, would make a perfect sound track for a horror movie!
Had to shift creep feeder for calves this evening on good dry land.
Needed the four wheel drive on, and left a dirty rut ten inches deep after me!

Herd test shortly. Here's hoping for clear test. No other option but to cut back stock.

Are you trying to convert kgs CAN/hectare to kgs CAN/acre or
are you trying to convert kgs of nitrogen/hectare to units of nitrogen/acre?

The showers seem to have divided around us. Its about time as normally we get all the rain. There was no rain over night and its glorious here at the moment.
