GPS Switching on

Hi - in the past 2 weeks my GPS has started turning itself on - I have not downloaded any new apps - I turn it off and 30 min later its back on ? I have checked location and 'find my phone' services etc. - but cannot see anything turned on. Is there a way to see what is using the GPS ?
