I have a scrambler I use to drive in a field.

I have a problem however. A few months ago it just stopped driving. it still starts and ticks over but wouldnt drive even though it was in gear. at 1st i thought the clutch had ceased up but then last week it drove again but i had to let it warm up for about 45 mins and then run along beside it while it was in gear and i was accelerating.
when i sit on it and try to drive at 1st its like the clutch has ceased but then when i finally get it driving its like new again.

Can anybody suggest what it might be thats wrong.?
    Thanks

Sounds like worn clutch plates to me.
As the plates heat up they start to grab.
Check your freeplay at the lever, it should be 8mm or so.
