saorview not working, some help please

    Hi.

I purchased a saorview box ( not the most expensive I must say. Cheqp and cheerful, basic model ). It worked for a month or 6 weeks and then the channels just disappeared. I would have some knowledge of how to hook up tv's, boxes but not much much, but no matter what i do i can not get it to pick up the channels again. I can get the settings and all up on the TV and when i search for channels nothing. The funny thing I can actually pick up some of the english FTA channels on it ( though they are not great reception ), BBC, UTV etc...

Any help would be appreciated. I genuinely changed nothing, and even went and bought a new aerial lead ( old one was a bit frayed ) and this didnt work. I dont want to bring it back to shop yet, as i already returned one which didnt work.

I also have a sky box hooked up to the tv as a FTA box for the english channels, which is working fine from the dish.

    Thanks
    JB

More than likely a problem with your aerial system, rather than the receiver.

Cables & connections will deteriorate, water gets in, amplifiers can malfunction etc. Usually due to old-age, but can happen on newer systems, especially if the installation wasn't great to begin with.
