I actually did a big clean out of my gmail about 2 months ago. I was easily using about 4GBs of storage most of which was just newsletters and other pointless crap like that. On 0.5GBs now, so this is great news.

Google Apps customers are getting a bump for Drive and Gmail to the tune of 30GB

How can you find how much gmail storage you are using?

I'm blind, ta. Looked all round, but not there.

    3% full
Using 0.4 GB of your 10.1 GB

I think I'm ok for now :pac:

You can filter your mail to find what is taking up a lot of room, I have this set as quick link, you can also just put it in the search bar:
    has:attachment size:10M

That will show me all mails that have attachments and larger than 10 Mb

In fairness saying you've been using it since it was in Beta isn't saying much. It was in Beta from 2004 until July 2009. so it has still spent more time in beta than not ;)

Have been using Gmail since 2006
this is what its telling me

    29% full
Using 8.8 GB of your 30.1 GB

However on my Google Accounts page its saying
Current plan: 20 GB for $5.00/year
    Using 18.08 GB (69.56%) of 26 GB

    mighty confused:confused:

I presume they are just going to marry these together so I will give it a while and see what it tells me after the new page becomes available to view

    BTW
there is a great Chrome add on that shows details of your stored files in Google Drive

Eh my account says I am not using anything!

    Storage View and modify plan

    Using 0 GB (0%) of 5 GB

Unlimited storage for me I guess! WHOOP!

I pay for the 100GB of Google Drive storage and since I was an early adopter, Google has gave me an extra 25GB + 6GB separately :) Use full size uploads for G+.

yup can't complain 20 GB for $5.00/year plus the free space - won't get a better deal than that anywhere
Plus with the nice integration its far better than any other service out there

They changed their plans about a year ago I think. Maybe longer. Used to be cheaper with more optionsand if you had an old plan you could keep it

I would check that again, just logged into my alternative Gmail account (nothing linked or purchased with it) and it shows this:

I'm confused now. Check what again? That shows the free storage from Gmail and drive plus the 2 storage plans they currently have. I'm talking about their old storage plans where you could have from 20gb up to a terabyte(maybe 2 even)

Had the legacy plan, when renewal time came up my Credit Card had expired.
    Lost legacy plan :(

Been using this address since 2005 and that's after a "has:attachment" cleanup I did earlier this year. :D
