Friday Update: WWE World Hvt. champion Dolph Ziggler has been diagnosed with retrograde amnesia after reportedly suffering a concussion at Tuesday's Smackdown TV taping.

WWE released an update on Ziggler's health Friday, which includes Ziggler saying he doesn't remember Monday's Raw, doesn't remember traveling from Raw to Smackdown on Tuesday, or going to the airport on Wednesday to fly home.

Ziggler says staff members for the Phoenix Suns evaluated Ziggler and he may require a CT scan when he sees the Suns medical staff again "in a couple of days."

Ziggler described the injury as "a little scary" when considering the effects of memory loss and how hard he was kicked in the head during the events at Tuesday's Smackdown taping.

WWE and Ziggler are not able to say yet whether Ziggler will be able to make his World Title defense at the Extreme Rules PPV in nine days. WWE simply said Ziggler "expects to be back in action soon."

Thursday Update: WWE announcer Jim Ross described Dolph Ziggler's injury as a "serious concussion" on Thursday.

"There's no timeline as to Ziggler's return as WWE will be particularly cautious in dealing with any injury but especially a head injury," Ross wrote Thursday in a new blog at jrsbarbq.com.

Ziggler suffered the concussion at Tuesday's Smackdown TV taping, according to WWE. WWE has not provided their own medical update since releasing the initial injury report on Wednesday.

Seriously hope he is ok.

I think I'd be sick if he has to forfeit this title after only getting it!!

maybe a forfeit would work out better in the long run. He could actually make a run for the title, win some matches and get some momentum. Lets be honest, this title run will not do much for him, he is booked as hit and miss as always since winning and he just happens to have the title.

Not sure who to give it to if forfeited, Swagger and Del Rio are oh so heatless, if only it could end up with Mizark.:o


I'd let the heatless wonders have a contenders match and then the winner can wrestle Dolph when he is cleared.

Yeah, the last year of Danielson only having to do tag team stuff for the most part has probably added a year or two to his career.

Unsure if Raw spoiler:

Dolph Ziggler is not at Raw.

PWInsider.com has confirmed he will not be working this Sunday's Extreme Rules PPV, either, due to the concussion he suffered at last Tuesday's Smackdown taping. WWE will set up their alternative plans during this week's TV Tapings.

The word backstage is that with Dolph Ziggler's concussion, the Extreme Rules PPV will now feature a number one contender's bout to determine Ziggler's next challenger.

Seriously though, how much sh*t is Swagger going to get after that? Cant be good. Obviously he should be able to control something like that kick a lot better.

As disappointing as not having Ziggler is, I'm kind of happy that they aren't making him drop the title altogether.
