PRSI Issue (P45)

    I'm reviewing a P45 received from a retail/customer service company I worked part-time with for 2 years at the ages of 20-22.

On 'Part 4' of said P45, PRSI Details are outlined where it states my PRSI Class. On this P45 it is stated that my PRSI is Class 'M'.

I was earning €60-110/week so should it not be Class 'A'?

Am I correct in thinking this? Maybe I have my reasoning wrong? The point in me checking up on this is that upon trying to apply for Jobseekers, I was told that my contribution class was not high enough - that I have not contributed enough?

If it is the case that the company has made this mistake on the P45, is it easily rectified? Would the company have any reason to have not outlined my correct class of PRSI contribution, could this work in their benefit in any way?

I am green when it comes to all of this! Thanks in advance.
