Question: Getting reissued flight vouchers (Weston)

    Hi folks,
Found some flight vouchers (for Weston) over the weekend which my now wife got me over a decade ago! Thought they were lost forever! :-)

Anyways, anyone know if Weston might honour the vouchers (1.5hrs) and reissue them, even after all this time?

Anyone ever had expired vouchers reissued?

    Thanks!
    B.

Who exactly issued them? Weston is the airport, not a flight school. Even if they're honoured after all this time, they wouldn't cover 1.5 hours. It's got a lot more expensive since then.

I have to say it's doubtful, there is a possibility that the company may no longer even exist particularly if they were issued by Topgifts rather than directly by the flight school.

They're both "Flying Gift Cards", issued "On behalf of Weston Ltd., Leixlip, Co. Kildare". No flight school is mentioned.

One is signed by "John Murtagh", the other by "A Murtagh".

Weston Ltd probably went bust though so thats out. Flying there now is around 235 per hour although theres a cheaper school there now I have heard.

Sorry you've no chance. Weston was sold to Jim Mansfield back then by Darby Kennedy for lots of millions. His old flying school and club disappeared soon after that. Since then the Weston airport has been further sold. The flying schools there now have no connection to the old Weston flying school.

So the vouchers are worthless, no wonder they're described as 'free money' by some companies.

They might be worth something on Ebay one day.

With which school? NFC quoted me 235 +5 per landing or so recently, I think I paid 195+5 per landing 12 mo ago there.

I'm doing the maths on a few of my receipts and they all tally in and around 180 p/h. It depends how you fly...if you cruise around at constant power you will save a bit of you fly long blocks.
