In a month's time? Best off coming back at that time, as we're expecting some new CPUs around then.

Got some info to the upcoming CPUs? Any idea of what the price range of them will be?

Similar in price and performance to Ivy, by all accounts, though it looks like they might be a bit better in the overclocking department.

Is that even worth waiting for? My 3570k OC'd to 4.5ghz with hardly any effort. Is anything higher going to have a discernible effect on gaming? Also the release of Ivy had very little effect on Sandy prices back at release iirc.

Yeah, previous gen stuff doesn't get discounted much when it goes EOL. You might well get some decent deals on Adverts though.

As to whether it's worth waiting for, I don't know. It's going to be awesome for laptops, no question. Desktops though is another ballgame entirely. Is there going to be a performance difference? Probably. Will it be noticed or even needed in games? Not right now. When next gen consoles drop, this could well change, but right now, it's really hard to say either way.

It wouldn't be worth upgrading to, but it's worth waiting for since it's a new platform - the socket should last for two generations by the looks of things so you'd have a much longer upgrade path.

Do you mean the 1155 socket will last for the next two gens or will the new gen socket last for two gens when it come out

    Next gen. Socket 1150.
