New Open Session in Galway City

    Hey guys - we've started a new open session in Galway City, every Sunday afternoon from 4 pm at The Townhouse Bar on Spanish Parade (across from Jury's). Its called the 'Sunday Americana Session' and its been going pretty well so far! Its an open session, all players and singers invited, of all levels. The music is Country, Bluegrass and Newgrass, Blues, Folk, Cajun, Old-Time and Roots music. You can find us on facebook - just search for the 'Sunday Americana Session' - for more info.

    Come on down and join in the jam!

    Today at the Townhouse Bar (across from Jury's at Spanish Parade) we'll be rip 'roarin through another Americana Session, starting at 4 pm! It's an open session, every Sunday from 4 pm, all players and listeners welcome, so come on down! http://www.facebook.com/sundayamericana.

    How have these sessions been going, have you been getting any acts coming and playing their original material? I have a band and our stuff is often classified as being Americana-ish.

    Hi Stereomaniac, the Americana Session is just that, a hosted session where people are welcome to join and everyone shares the singing and playing. There are regulars who come every week, and sometimes people passing through just drop in. Although mostly Americana/folk/traditional bluegrass covers, people are welcome to do an original, and musicians can jam on these if they pick it up. It's not a gig or an open mic though. :)
