If I'm an Unaffiliated Cycling Ireland member can I come along on day and race?

Yes so long as you have a race licence

Once you have a Cycling Ireland License you should be fine, just remember if you are racing not to rock up in Trade Team Kit, so plain gear is recommended.

    Cheers

Unless you are one of the organisers or know the organisers and know that they will turn a blind eye, he won't be ok with just any C.I. licence. He will need a 'Full Competition' licence. A 'Leisure' licence or a 'Club Competition' licence will not suffice for an open race. At any open race I've done so far this year, the licence category has been checked. He'd need a race number for one thing. Remember too that since 1st April, a new C.I. rule came into operation and day licences for races are no longer available.

A member of the promoting club can ride in their own open races with a club competion licence

Interesting, but not relevant to ford2600 seeing as he said he is unaffiliated...

So where is Dungarvan Soccer Club anyway, and is that the same thing as Dungarvan United AFC? It might be a People's Front of Judea vs Judean People's Front sort of thing!

Soccer pitch is in Kilrush from memory. From Cork 1st roundabout 1st exit, 2nd roundabout 3rd exit (stay on by pass) 3rd roundabout 1st exit. Soccer grounds immediately on right across from service station.
A slow day in hills for me so.

Yes, great race. Keep us up to date on the lad sent to Cork Hospital. Looked in a very bad way on the deck.

That Eddie Dunbar kid is a machine, on another level! Get him off to a European team before he discovers women and alcohol....and to give the rest of us a chance!

A clubmate of his who also did the race told me a few hours ago that the guy taken to CUH has concussion but should be left home this evening. It did look pretty bad alright so I was relieved to hear it.
