Jumping Jesus that girl can sing, she reminds me of Sandy Denny. I'm not familiar with the band at all but by god from the sounds of this tune they are something very special.

The album Absolute Zero is now available in Ireland. It's on spotify.

Been waiting months for this. Haven't been excited for an album in some time.
Listening now... love it so far. Great to hear more Irish music.

I think about three quarters of the album is great. There are some missteps though.
Red and Blue is awful - I skip it every time.

Don't think I've ever listened to Red and Blue in full, although it may grow on me. Looking forward to seeing them tonight in Vicar St anyway.

Have I had my head in the sand for the last while or what? Heard these for the first time on Other Voices last night.

Have ye all known about them for a long time?

Down to the river is quality. Some set of lungs on that girl. All the lads are decent singers and musicians too. They show great maturity for their age.

Some of the songs are decent enough but some of their lyrics don't do them any favours. John Wayne in particular.

Been waiting on this album for what seems like years. Played the limited number of tracks on Spotify and YouTube to death. It's a really solid debut album and if I hadn't heard so much of what was on it already it would have been far more impressive to me.

Surprised at how low key this album release has been, I expect these guys to go on to big things.

So own up if you know them guys!

They were on last years Other Voices as well, thats where I heard of them. Great show for shining a light on Irish talent. Only heard a few of their songs but I like what I've heard thus far.

Saw these guys in NYC recently. I hadnt heard them on record before I saw them live. Blown away by the show, but very disappointed by the record. The girls voice is much more powerful in a live setting than on the album.

Saw them at forbidden fruit last year, and before that too (possibly EP in '11).
I haven't seen them since but they were on other voices recently, and they don't seemed to have progress their sound much in the 2 years.
Having said that, i do like them, and Faye's voice is great live.

Love "my lover took me down to the river" fabulous song, saw them preform on "the works" last night on rte, another fab song, they have really great harmonies. Didn't realise till last night they were from Dublin. Best of luck and success to them.

They're rather nice live, saw them when they backed Antlers last year, and they matched nicely, would defintely love to see them again, with a full album under their belt.

Does the pianist from the The Thrills tour with them or does he just play My Love Took Me Down To The River?

I saw him on Other Voices with them and he's on a youtube video with them in Seattle.

I'm obsessed with their song Harper Lee

Best thing I've heard in a long time

I'm really enjoying this record, picked it up last week having liked what I'd heard on the radio, I'm sure its been said before but it's like Florence Welsh has joined The Flaming Lips, it's the best Irish record I've heard in a few years, Harper Lee and my love took me down to the river are obvious highlights but there isn't a real dud on there.

I don't like Red and Blue. It just sounds so out of place.
    Cracking album otherwise, though.
