    Hi folks,

My nexus s is running a bit crappy lately.
Do you think I should root and flash to cyanogenmod?

What functionality would I lose by doing this?
Can I still download apps from Google Play?

    Thanks for any help

For a nexus device you lose nothing as they're vanilla. Id do it if it were me.

That said, she's getting old. Might be time to upgrade soon.

Vanilla android. As in straight from google.

With Samsung you lose some of the touchwiz features(added by samsung) or with HTC you lose some sense features(added by HTC) but with a nexus device there's no manufacturer junk so the mods can include everything.

    Play store will work fine.

Excellent :-) I'm new to rooting flashing etc, what would you recommend I do/use?
