April 2014 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the battle of Clontarf, the barbarians will be taking on Clontarf in castle avenue...hopefully local lads Healy and bod will be involved.

Will be great to go along and watch but the Babas play local sides for anniversaries often enough or regional sides so I wouldn't be expecting a team composed of players normally associate with the Barbarians. At best, we'd be looking at squad players or lower tier players. For example, they played the South of Scotland a year or two ago and Jack O'Connell and Niall Annett were lining out in the front row for the Barbarians.

Hopefully they get some good quality players involved and Irish guys playing over in England or France. Would be great to see some of those guys come back especially guys like Michael Keating that have played for Clontarf.

Given the date its the week before the HEC/ACC semi finals.

Leinster won't be releasing anyone who is in their SF plans. Could be a different story if Leinster don't make the semi finals though.

FYI: Tickets for Clontarf vs Barbarians in April were on sale in the clubhouse today. €20 per ticket.
