A neighbour just had the test done on a 01 focus. Failed on a few minor things but one problem i'm not sure about is(i haven't seen the car yet),is a defect on the Steering Linkage, Rack and Pinion, Worn,Nearside Front.

The tester has scribbled over the 'Pinion' part, if that makes sense. She never asked the tester, what the actual problem is.

Obviously without seeing the car it's hard to tell, but maybe some of ye have come across this before, would this mean a new steering rack, or maybe just a worn inner tie rod.

possibly a worn inner tie rod alright. there's obviously play there when you shake the wheel but maybe tester wasn't 100% sure it was coming from the inner tie rod.
