New Driving Licence - Loss of Penalty Points?

    Hi guys,
Just got my new style driving licence today.
I noticed my old licence number under category 4d and that I have a new licence number unter category 5.
I was supposed to have 2 penalty points applied to my licence under the number in category 4d on the 6th may 2013.
My new licence was issued on the 3rd may 2013.
Could I have dodged a bullet here and not gotten the penalty points on my licence?
Not too bothered about having them, just curious :P
    Thanks guys :)

I very much doubt it to be honest. The points are against your license number on a central database; they have nothing to do with the piece of paper/plastic that you carry around with you.

    No.

Your driver number is still the same. It's the 9 digit number.
And that's the number by which they identify you, apply points, issue licences, etc.
Other number you mentioned is just a document number, which will change everytime you change document.
