In an experimental bid to determine whether wider gun ownership could lead to a decline in crime, a University of Houston graduate student and the Armed Citizens Project is looking to give away shotguns to residents of fifteen citie

    Real Poe's Law stuff.

    Which is worse?

Using RT as a source for American news or using Fox as a source for Russian news?

From the same site a real life McBain/Dirty Harry type:

AR-15 rifle left with 'friend' could lead Florida cop to ninth dismissal

...Previously, Bosque has fought numerous allegations, some of which have led to previous terminations. He has been accused of beating juveniles, falsifying reports, calling in ‘sick’ from Cancun, having busted the skull of a handcuffed suspect, having drugs and alcohol in his squad car, and participating in an unauthorized police chase in which four people were killed. He was also accused of stealing a car, trying to board an airplane with a loaded gun, and driving with a suspended license. Police have already investigated Bosque 40 times, 16 of those for battery or other violent crimes, according to a Huffington Post report from early 2012....

This is a good idea, more guns make people more safe, as we know from the evidence

More guns mean more deaths by guns overall. But burglars will certainly be less likely to enter people's homes when they know they're armed. That sounds like pretty simple logic.

In the 30 years since they brought in the law that every household had to own a firearm they have had 9 murders and less than half of them were with firearms, so that kinda goes against your more guns mean more deaths comment

I meant more deaths by guns in general - not in relation to killing burglars.

That was deaths in general not killings related to burglars

Where exactly are you talking about? I'm just going by the deaths in America in general. I actually like the idea of being able to protect your home so I'm certainly not against it per se. Although the US has an undeniably large death rate by guns overall.

    It's RT quoting Fox
“We’re not just tossing a bunch of shotguns into a community and walking away,” Coplen told Fox 26.

    Nothing on http://www.press.tv/ yet ;)

    Nor I, without it.

It's one of the towns in the US with a mandatory "every household must have a gun" law.

A couple more have followed suit since.

    TL;DR
When do I get my shotgun?

Not really. is that more or less than before hand?

If guns make people safer, than going to south central LA and handing out weapons to everyone would get rid of all the crime. Do you think there would be less deaths then?

Do you think removing gang activity would make south central LA safer? Regardless of the number of guns?

If we had access to guns in Ireland like in the US, we'd have one of the highest murder rates in the world. Madness.

forget murders, the biggest danger from household guns is accidents and suicides. (and don't say that people would just kill themselves another way, if there's a 'quick and easy' method to hand, then suicides rise)

No we wouldn't. And there is absolutely no reason to believe that we would.
