Another months trial?

    Hi All,
Just looking for a few opinions really...I started a new job a month ago, at the start my boss said that she would put me on a months trial and see how I got on. I have been trying my level best to do the tasks given to me and also have done any overtime she has asked me to do (including working late nights, Saturday and Sunday) Last week I made a mistake with an order being sent out to a customer. Obviously I know that this should not have happened and I told her it would not happen again.

My months trial was up last week and she called me into her office yesterday. She mentioned the screw up with the order last week and said that it had never happened in the company before, that she was going to put me on another months trial. The business is very busy the moment and I am now thinking that they may only be keeping me on to get them over this busy period and then let me go? I know there is no way of people knowing for sure what she is thinking but would appreciate any advice or similar stories. With the current economic climate I really need to keep this job...Thanks for reading.

Assuming you're getting paid for this ... you're on probation for the first year anyway, which is really just a big long trial.

So I wouldn't say it makes much difference.
