Well I had my Interview, They seem like a great company, and the people were lovely so I would not worry about that aspect. However I did find myself caught off Guard with some of the questions, I also felt I answered too fast and perhaps spoke too much, I probably came accross as more of a talker than a listener which isnt actually the case, I am usually a good listener, but I was quite nervous. Im very mixed about how it went. That said I was very much myself and the interviews both had great personality, There was a little laughing at the scenarios, Maybe too much on my behalf, The questions were mainly the same as the others, However one question I had not anticipated, That I think is worth being prepared for is what would you do if you witnesssed your Co Worker Stealing from the company. Overal the interview was fine, I just done feel I portrayed myself as well as I could of, Hopefully they will not base their decision on the interview alone, as I really think I would be great at the Job,
If anybody needs any other advise or info, Feel free to Pm me,
Also did anybody else have there interview in Galway, and do you remember the name of the Male Interviewer? If you could remind me, Thanks :)

Best of Luck to all :)

Donegal_gal I wouldn't worry too much. I was the same, talked a lot but hope I answered the questions adequately. One of my interviewers didnt say much at all, and seemed to be just observing the whole interaction. I didn't get that question about how you would deal with a work colleague stealing. That's a tricky one. I was wondering if I should send an email after the interview, but didn't want to be seen as canvassing. So I just left it in the end. It will be a long wait for the result.

Does anyone have any idea how long the interviews are going on for? Or was it just all of last week? Just trying to get some idea of how many they might have interviewed in the three centres. Good luck to anyone who still has to interview.

I was told Monday that applicants will be notified of whether or not they get the position in four weeks which would be around the 15th of July, that's what I was told at least in the interview.

I'd say they got through around 14 candidates a day (2 per hour) so say that by 10 working days would be around 140. However, I'd say there might be interviews held in all 3 locations by different interviewers which means it's more likely that there has been around 420 interview candidates. Does that sound right? Just what I could figure, I mean, as you said, if there's going to be 37 driving licence centres then they possibly need an average of 3-5 staff members per centre which mean there might be as much as 110-185 jobs going. Hard to know how many staff will be needed. So I say candidates must have at least 1 in 3 or 4 chances of getting it? I went for a position before where there were 200 interviews for 20 jobs and got it so let's hope luck prevails again!

It'll be grand. If it's in Galway, don't worry, the interviewers are lovely just prepare for scenario style questions and best of luck just be yourself!

You all sound very positive after the interviews & seem to have done brilliantly - well done to all of you! :)

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences also, it really has helped settle my nerves. A little. :)

I have mine this Friday in Galway - will let you know how I get on. Very nervous as it's also my first real interview as I have had the same job since leaving school, through college etc.

Does anyone know if you get called for training does that mean you automatically have the job or is that another stage you will need to complete before securing the job? I know the email stated it was Stage 4 of the selection process.

I think your're certainly close enough to the mark. A 1 in 4 chance certainly wouldnt be too bad. My friend was interviewed in SGS's Little Island office in Cork on Wednesday by two women. He said they were very friendly too. Would love to know how many applied first day, must be in the thousands. I found myself dreaming about where I would go on holidays next year if I got the job! How sad is that.

Thanks Strongbow, Do I go in as far as Rocco Tiles and turn left on that road to bring me out by the racecourse? Is the turn off for Ballybrit Industrial park far down on left or right etc? Thanks for the help

Think there a good map there, showing SGS location:http://www.galwaytransport.info/2011/03/city-east-business-park-layout-map.html

Thanks Annie got the call over two weeks ago.

If you're coming from Briarhill Shopping Centre then follow the N6, you will pass by Tom Hogans Filling Station/Garage which is on the right hand side of the road and there will be a signpost on the roundabout ahead indicating the turn off for Ballybrit Industrial Business Park which is also on the right side so you will need to go through the roundabout.

Once you take the turn off for the industrial state, you will see a sign in the business park saying "City East" business park go down that lane and half-way down there is the SGS building which has the sign over the door, it is directly beside a cafe.

Does that make sense? I'm not great with directions but it was easy to find from the Briarhill shopping centre.

If you do get lost, then ask someone where the Supermac's Head Office is as it is the most commonly known business in the industrial park, also if you do get really stuck just ring Supermac's head office and ask them for directions :P

Hi banshee a. Have u a sat nav on fone if so type in ballybrit busines park and it wkll bring u right there. If not When u get to just outside city before any roundabouts u will see a sign on the left for galway races take a sharp left continue to roundabout and take first exit another sharp left . athen take a rogh and drive a minute u will see sgs office on the right. These are sketchy but allow lots of time. Perhaps google now. Destination Ballybrit ark. Hope this helps
