Subtitles for NAS files

I can't seem to make any video player to pick up the subtitles I have saved in the same folder as the video file on a NAS device. From the android player (I use Dice player or MX player) I can't browse to the NAS, only to the internal memory.
Is there any player that cansee subtitles files on a NAS or at least to download them?

What type of a machine is your NAS? If you can install Plex Media Server on it then the client will play subtitles on the android.

I've noticed that subtitle files usually have to have the exact same filename as the video they go with. But this would be on a media player or VLC on the desktop etc. Might be same in this case.

The NAS is a Zyxel 310 and I use the player on the android devices rather than a player on the NAS itself.

As for the same name for video and subtitles, it works but I was hoping I don't have to go and check every file if it's in sync with the video. On top of that, this operation has to be done on the PC as I can't be done on the android devices.

If you're stuck you could teamviewer from the android box to your PC, then edit the files on the NAS.

I use bsplayer and download subtitles automatically on the fly with it. I'm pretty sure it will pick them up from the folder with the video file otherwise

Thanks, I never thought to look for the bsplayer app although I'm using the player on my PC to download the subtitles.

Thanks for all the other suggestions.
