Mass card or sympathy card for past employer

I have a question but don't know where to post.

I did five months work for a company last year and my boss's husband wasn't well at the time, I'm not there anymore and I don't keep in touch but her husband died after Christmas and I have only found out. I'd like to pass on my condolences but wondering whether it is too late to send a mass card. And I'm just looking for some feedback or thoughts on what people think. Should I send a mass card or a sympathy card?

I think a sympathy card would be nice.

I think the sympathy card is a very nice touch, and will be greatly appreciated.

    What a lovely, kind thought!

Either would be fine. It's the thought that counts & I'm sure either would be appreciated. In fact if a bit of time has passed it may be appreciated slightly more.

I think you are right, I will buy a sympathy card. A mass card would perhaps be better if I was a close friend. Thank you to all for your responses, much appreciated.

What a kind gesture. I think a sympathy card with a nice note in it would be appreciated by her. For some reason I can't explain, I feel it's too late to send a mass card.

Hmm.. the poor chap died nearly 10 years ago, so it probably is a bit late ;)
