    http://uk.reuters.com/article/2013/05/08/uk-usa-singer-arrest-idUKBRE94701120130508
(Reuters) - Tim Lambesis, lead singer for the heavy metal band As I Lay Dying, was arrested in California on Tuesday on charges that he sought the help of an undercover detective to have his estranged wife killed, police said. Lambesis was taken into custody in Oceanside, near San Diego, said San Diego County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Jan Caldwell.
Police had previously learned Lambesis was looking for someone to carry out the killing, Caldwell said.
"The information came to us late last week. We acted quickly on it. I believe that we averted a great tragedy," she said.
Caldwell said the ongoing investigation prevented her from disclosing any details about why Lambesis might have wanted to have his wife killed or how police first learned about what they described as his murder plan.

So many fans are saying he was in Asia when he supposedly met this undercover cop in California? Who knows! Very weird story!

This is insane. You can't trust anyone.

I'll miss Austrian Death Machine even more - he's taking this whole Arnie thing a little far isn't he? :P

Holy sh1t! He'd be the last person I'd think would want to murder someone! Isn't he a devout Christian and a weedy theology nerd? That's seriously messed up from the leftfield. I initially liked Austrian Death Machine but found the humour so forced it wasnt funny. And he apparently thinks of himself as a serious dude who likes to be humourous through this side project but the humour isnt great, very much in the style of, if we just say silly things that dont make sense through an Arnie voice it will be funny. And someone rightly pointed out a few years ago that they took it too seriously for a comedy project!

I'd think religious people would be more likely to murder people, but that's just me :D

Yeah, but I think to some religious types, that's more of a big red button that says "DO NOT PRESS!" that they can't resist :P

Well, that's not the sort of story you'd hear every day.

I think you just went a bit too far with your jokes. You shouldn't judge other people because of their religious views.

    statistically links is correct.

A statement of fact is not a judgement.

it was just an off the cuff remark, I don't think that religion should really come into this and if he's guilty, I doubt there'll be any religious motivations so it's irrelevant.

I bet he had a song called "Consider This A Divorce" lined up for the next Austrian Death Machine album.

The FBI have released mug shots of the two alleged hitmen:

The accused have made the following statement:
"This dude, uh-huh-huh-huh, said he was gonna pay us to do his wife. . Uh-huh-huh-huh, cool."

Someone changed the influences on his Wikipedia page to include O.J Simpson :D

We should be finding out more about this within the next week until then it's unfair to make any judgement. Remember when Birdman (Basketball Player) Was arrested for possesion of child porn but it turned out it was some black-mail from a pissed ex or something...

    Pleaded Not Guilty

It's been revealed that he sent an E-Mail to his wife saying that he no longer loved her and that he no longer believed in the Christian faith.

OJ didn't do it ... his son did.

I thought the thing to learn from the OJ trial was to not try and kill your wife, either by yourself, or by shopping it out to others.

I saw his band in October supporting Trivium, i'm not a fan though, never would have expected this. He's very muscular but the tattoos completely ruin it.

Ok so conspiring to murder someone is bad...but I think he is probably mentally ill, not saying that excuses what he did, but no one with their head screwed on right is going to go up to his fellow body builders and talk about hiring a hitman to kill their wife. (His bodybuilder friends told the police which led to the entrapment). I wouldnt be surprised if he becomes a born again Christian.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes him their bitch in prison.
Good enough for the kunt if he's guilty of this.
    ****e band anyway.

Looking up picture's of his wife(as you do!)and finding a few picture's of him.Didn't realize he had put on so much muscle.Wonder if he was taking anything in that regard to make him a bit more mental.Shame for the rest of the band as well,Their living gone up in smoke in one felt swoop.

Band members said his attitude completely changed soon after he started bodybuilding

The guy is an imbecile. Glad he got put behind bars.

But seriously, who the hell asks around for that sort of crap? Did he go on Craigslist and post something as ridiculous as "Looking for experienced hitman to kill my wife (serious inquiries only)" on there? Screw that moron, and As I Lay Dying sucks ass.

Em...one quick question, aren't As I Lay Dying a Christian band? lol - not very Christian is it to plot to kill your wife?

“The first time I cheated on my wife, my interpretation of morality was now convenient for me,” he said. “I felt less guilty if I decided, ‘Well, marriage isn’t a real thing, because Christianity isn’t real. God isn’t real.’”
Because he assumes morality is exclusive to religion, this is unequivocal proof that he is a dick.

That's arguably the dumbest justification for cheating possible.
