I am due an upgrade for my iPhone soon but I am thinking of changing over to the Samsung S4. The only thing is I have a Parrott car kit that I use with the iPhone which will obviously not work with the Samsung.
I haven't seen too many car kits for the Samsung that allow you play music? Is there one? Most only seem to allow you answer or receive calls.

I have a parrot car kit that works perfectly with my s3.
Why won't it work with the s4?

Agreed, I have a Parrot MKi9200 kit in mine that has worked with everything I've thrown at it, from multiple Androids including my current Note 2, to Windows phones, Blackberrys and older Nokias.

Only thing I haven't tried it with is an iPhone (personal choice) but that's supported too. Just make sure your firmware is up to date (get it from the Parrot site) and you should be grand - later versions of the firmware for mine added the ability for 2 phones to be paired simultaneously which is very handy!

It's a parrot mki9200 I have as well. I didn't even check to see if it worked with any smartphones other than the iPhone. I assumed it didn't as there's very little compatibility between them as we know. So the connector is the same for the Samsung S4 as the iPhone 4?

Can you not connect through bluetooth.?

Is there connections in the glove box?

The music player doesn't work with bluetooth, only for calls. To play music I have to have it connected via the cable (yes the one that comes out through the glove box).

That connector has multi cables on it, mini-usb, stereo sound and iphone jacks. If yours only has the iphone cable, the others are hidden behind the dash.

Alternatively, Bluetooth Audio works for Androids & Windows Phones - and indeed iPhones.

That's weird; I never got the music player to work via bluetooth with my iPhone. Maybe I didn't try hard enough. I never actually used the bluetooth with it, I just got into the habit of plugging the connector to the phone the very second I sat into the car. I have all the cables you are referring to though (mini-usb, stereo and iphone).

My Galaxy Note 2 (which isn't far removed from your imminent S4) works fine over Bluetooth for both calls and music to the Parrot kit.

Tonnes of music players available for Android - Player Pro is my current choice.

I realise what it is now;I can play music from my iPhone over bluetooth with the Parrot;it's just that you can't control what is playing from the Parrot; you have to do it from the phone. It is only if you have the cable connected you can use the menu on the Parrott to change what is playing etc.

I used to just pair my iphone via bluetooth for calls and either stuck in a usb stick or ipod nano dedicated to the usb cable for my music..saved me having to mess with cables etc since I also had a tomtom cradle for my iphone which charged it..

Well with the Galaxy you will be able to see and control the playlist using the Parrot remote. It'll also support various equaliser effects, multiple folders and so on.

What I do though is have a USB stick with all the music connected to the plug in the glovebox. Works for me.
