just looking for some advice, I've just found a box full of bottles of wine that I forgot to open when I moved. they date from around 1999 to 2002 and are a mix of organic wines and stuff like Jacobs Creek.

Any idea if they would be drinkable????

They might be ok but not all wines can be stored forever.

Open one and check the quality by smell, if it smells right then sip a bit. Inspect the cork for leakage.
The sturdier the red wine then longer it will last, 10 years plus is probably pushing it too far though without proper storage in a wine cellar.

From your description these were wines meant for drinking right away. Whites would be probably undrinkable at this stage (depends on the wine) but you might be lucky on reds. There's only one way to find out :D

Don't hold out much hope for wines that old. Those brands are made for more or less immediate drinking. If you are thinking of serving them at a party make sure it is late in the evening, when peoples taste buds may be dulled!

And they're more likely to throw up from food poisoning in the taxi taking them home instead of on your carpet!
