You've probably answered your own question tbh,, better spec & more power for the same money.. no brainer, also

The i30 is a far better looking motor than the Auris, and the tourer even moreso in my opinion..

I'd be getting the half-leather at least in the I30, or i wouldn't call it a spec at all. No point shelling out for a reg plate if you haven't got any bells to ring or whistles to blow..

The i30 is a better car in every respect.
The half leather isn't available on the facelift but id be aiming for the deluxe model anyway. Even the base model has decent spec though

Agree on it being a better car, the Auris is a disgrace of a yoke.

Wasn't aware of that about the interior in the i30, shame, as the pfl had a very nice half leather, very comfortable...

    How so?

    How so?

Disgrace is a bit strong of a word on reflection, but just my opinion:

Poor on price compared to competitors
Poor spec, even top spec is poor (may have improved, havent looked in a while)
Fugly compared to the i30, and cee'd

And this is coming from an absolute Toyota nut..

    New toyotas suck

    How so?

It has one of the cheapest and poor quality interiors of any car in it's class. It's not all that well built either with dash rattles and creaks etc. And finally it's not all that reliable either with electric power steering and gearbox issues etc.
