Ok so apart from the usual Floyd wrecks my head or Khan is too big for his boots who in the great sport of boxing really gets on your nerves?

For me its Sam Watson and his twin sons.
You might not recognize the name but you'll definitely recognize him (on the left) and his sons in the pic below. They're at nearly every major boxing event peering over the boxer's shoulder when they're doing an interview in the ring or at the weigh in or being presented with a belt.

Angel Garcia, God I detest that man. Can't wait till his son gets found out as well.

James degale - fairly delusional guy.

Bob arum - typical promoter, most of the older promoters are crooks.

Adrian bronner - just too arrogant.

Leonard ellerbe - bit of a leach, seems like quiet a sleezy character.

Boxing is full of un-likeable people to be fair, prob could name ten more.

I always wondered who they were, now I know.

I have an irrational hatred of Tony Bellew.

Most hated Fighters, Bellew, sore loser and an idiot who thinks he is way better then he is, Adrien Broner not the arrogance but the fact that he cant even pull off the trash talk he just isnt funny, Dereck Chisora just a scumbag disgrace to the game

Trainers/ Promoters, Angel Garcia a racist and a d1ck also guerrero's dad calling floyd a chicken after his son gets outclassed and dominated, Bob Arum typical promoter a crook, Frank Warren a bitter wan*er talks so much crap about matchroom fighters and guys who are not with him meanwhile his fighters are the best thing ever also of course he's know for not paying his fighters what they should be paid god the day all those promters like Warren Arum leave the game the better, only promoter i have time for is Hearn of course i no he is there to make money but seems the most honest promoter in boxing and in interviews is a likeable guy im glad he has the best stable in the UK

Jimmy Magee - Why is this man allowed to commentate on boxing? Someone could be getting demolished in the ring and come back á la Corrales v Castillo and all you'd hear from him is a spiel about his coverage of showjumping in the 1984 Olympics or something. It would drive you mad like.

Dereck Chisora - Born and raised in Zimbabwe; one minute he's banging on about his African identity and the next he's trying to be "Del Boy" the North London cockney geezer. The next day then he's trying to be black gangster with his stupid f*cking Union Jack face-scarf. Talk about a crisis of identity. Couple this with his wife-beating antics, spitting in Wlad's face and general scumbaggery and you have one of the worst characters in the sport. I know a fella who trains the youths in his Finchley club and he said your man is just thick, as in a low-IQ eejit as opposed to a vicious thug but he's probably a bit of both when it boils down to it.

Amir Khan - Always on about his "power" and how "I love to brawl" but he wouldn't punch the whiskers off a kitten. Gets repeatedly shown up time after time against mediocre opponents. Shows no respect to his opponents and talks like he already has them beat and then either loses, gets knocked out or badly rattled. (His last three fights to date.) An amateur trying to play a pro game he just doesn't suit and is so big-headed he can't see his own glaring deficiencies.

Naseem Hamed - An eejit. Anyone who rates him as "one of the best" is an even bigger eejit.

David Haye - Has had an abysmal campaign at heavyweight fighting nobody of worth until Klitschko to whom he lost in humiliating fashion before blaming his toe. For some reason they wheel him out on the telly to discuss the sport in general and he immediately reverts back to talking about himself and how great he is. Total arse.

Angel Garcia - Horrible bigot and general loudmouth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,377 ✭✭✭✭walshb

It would be hard to beat that Ruben Guerrero. And, Robert and his incessant ramming it down your throat bible bashing really is off putting. Garcia's dad is a real low life from what I have seen.

I was almost afraid to say this one in case it was viewed as some kind of blasphemy. I've watched fights with the volume turned down because of his commentary. It should never come to that.

I can't stand those American fans who refuse to give any credit to non-american fighters. And there are lots of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,252 ✭✭✭FTA69

The American "mob" - We all know who they are. The crowd who violently boo anyone who doesn't get repeatedly punched in the face. Boxing is a scientific sport, the aim of which is to strike your opponent while not getting struck yourself. In achieving this aim the boxer uses angles, footwork as well as head and upper body movement while throwing varieties of punches. It is variations of these, coupled with physical fitness as well as intelligence and tenaciousness, which leads to a boxer winning a contest.

Not every bout is going to be like Gatti v Ward; if people can't appreciate the craft that is boxing they should p*ss off an watch brawls in ice-hockey or whatever other nonsense and stop denigrating the likes of Rigondeaux or Andre Ward.

Carl Froch- As arrogant as can be and i'm sick of hearing this "warrior" crap.

Tony Bellew- he's an average fighter, european level at best but thinks he's world class. Tries to put on this nice guy attitude sometimes which doesn't work.

    Adam booth- Something about him

Tom Stalker- maybe harsh but there building him up, i dont think he's any good

Adam booth is a glorified fitness trainer dont rate him as a trainer at all, Froch is a warrior though you cant deny that not saying he is the best he was dominated by Ward but he is one of the few out there who will fight the best and give the fans what they want, Bellew is crap and god cant take a loss like a man still thinks he beat Cleverly and Chilemba saying he's the home fighter so he should have got it, i actually want him to beat Chilemba in the rematch so then he can face Dawson and get destroyed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,756 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Oh teddy atlas one annoying voice anyone who has Fight Night Champion will know what i mean his voice grates me and he cant stop with stupid cliche's, lennox lewis always strikes me as very arrogant he seems to think he beat a prime tyson the way he talks about that fight, also in the buildup to klitschko Haye he didnt give any credit to Vitali when asked about him,
BHop a dirty fighter, boring to watch and very little class outside the ring, max kellerman the man cant interview fighters, talks sooo slow ( just get to the point max)
Anthony ogogo more intrested in being a celebrity then a fighter, not even that great a fighter was given a gift of a bronze medal cant understand why theres all the hype around him when there are way better GB fighters from the olympics.

I noticed that too. Very reluctant to offer any praise. Odd, considering he beat the guy. You would think he'd big him up a bit.

Was just going to say this, its actually quite funny at times. If the sport consisted solely of talking and kissing Eddie Hearn's arse then he would be in the hall of fame.

He often goes into business mode where he plays the nice guy who just happens to turn into a warrior to feed his family when he steps between the ropes. In reality, hes actually a head the ball who panics when its apparent that his opponent hasn't been intimidated by his trash talk, and he has to actually show his metal in the ring.

He is euro level at best and its quite amusing now to see him scrambling a little bit seeing Eddie Hearn downgrade him lower down the card where he should be.

Froch has gone from being criminally ignored by the mainstream to pretty much rammed down everyone's neck. And by god he doesn't half like reminding folks that he did it the hard way. Always thought he was a bit of an odd character, very articulate at times but devoid of any sense of humility to make him likeable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 381 ✭✭Danny dyers double

Amir Kahn for me . Really can't stand the guy . If he boxed as well as he made up excuses he would never be beaten .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,756 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Not a person as such but i cant stand all the fighters who start thanking everyone after fights instead of answering questions, i mean thanking promotors tv companys, ect christ just answer the question, also the ones that always start on thanking god or whatever, its funny when its done by guys who dont exactly follow a relligous life, Broner has 4 kids outside marriage, Floyd is a women beater, Holyfield what 10 11 kids just keep the religious stuff to yourself or at least be someone who actually follows the faith correctly instead of bullsh1ting on about how god is your savior while you beat your wife and have a dozen kids

I don't think Froch is arrogant at all. I heard him give an interview about the Ward fight where he said the judges got it wrong and the margin of his defeat was bigger than they had it. He always seems like a pretty level headed guy to me, and obviously he does talk some shit now and again but it's never excessive and it's part of the business.

He wasn't saying that recently in Boxing Monthly when he was banging on about how it was a really close fight and sure look at the scorecards etc. Himself and Kessler are always moaning about Ward "not fighting like a man" i.e. not letting them punch them. The audacity of Ward like.

Agree tyson was groping women and being violent before Don King ever got his hands on Tyson, the reality is Tyson was back then not a nice guy people can make excuses and say it was Don King but King didnt make Mike hit his wife or rape someone

Completely agree. All that stuff about how Cus D'Amato would have kept him on the right track is a complete myth as well. The reality is Tyson was involved in sexual assaults of varying degrees of seriousness throughout the time he was under D'Amato's supervision and Cus went out of his way, on numerous occasions, to either hush them up or see to it that Tyson didn't suffer any punishment.

He knew what Tyson could be and Tyson, like a lot of talented young athletes, was allowed to get away with a lot of dreadful stuff because of it. The idea that Tyson was snatched away from some wonderfully moral environment because of Cus' death is a joke, a media fabrication about a benevolent elderly white man and his calming of a wild young protege who went back to his wild ways when his elderly mentor was gone.

I think it's good that Tyson sorted his life out and has found some sort of peace, but it shouldn't lead the rewriting of his personal history that you sometimes see. The dude had deep, dark issues and a lot of other people suffered as a result of them.

    Really??

    Where and when?

I've never heard either complain about losing to Ward, though there were plenty of fans correctly complaining about Ward's use of the head in Kessler's fight - that's what caused the stoppage in the end.

On more than one occasion I've heard Froch say "I lost fair and square" about the Ward fight. That's one of the reasons I like him, his honesty, both inside the ring and outside.

Immediately after the fight he said that and the latest issue of Boxing Monthly has him saying it as well. "Not fighting like a man" and "we all know he'd lose to myself and Kessler in a real fight". He wasn't saying he was robbed, rather moaning about Ward's style.

In the ring after the fight I clearly remember him saying he lost fair and square and that Ward was a lot stronger than he expected. He also said Ward did things he wasn't expecting and he hadn't prepared for those things in the gym.
And considering the combat mode that boxers are still in when they're interviewed immediately after a fight, that's very unusual honesty for a boxer.

I haven't seen the BM interview, but you claimed he and Kessler are "always moaning about Ward". That's not true.

To be fair I just watched the post-fight interview on YouTube and I think I picked up on that point only and ignored all the stuff you posted above. The interview in BM was one example but you're correct, he did give Ward his props after that fight.
