I've watched two episodes and neither of them actually showed any work being done.

It seems to be all about Richard and he doesn't do anything except talk ****e

I think it is a show not to take too serious

Richard Rawling's is quite the hero in the Gumball / Bullrun circuit. Held the trans-america record for a while before Alex Roy took it. Richard is actually quite successful as a business man, not the usual History channel schmuck.

Love this show. Probably won't satisfy peeple who need to see the actual nuts and bolts of working on the cars, but I love the wheeling and dealing and the general insight into American car culture :)

To me, it's just another Overhaulin/Boyd Coddington/Wrecks to Riches type show with a loud-mouth American talking utter tripe.

I enjoy the program and the way they do business, their work not so much. Let's hope they don't go OCC crazy and build and Gas Monkey Global HQ.

I love watching it, Richard is one of those guys who would throw a wicked pool party, plenty of drink and semi naked women with some nice classic cars in the background with the said semi naked women sprawled all over them in seductive poses. :D

I really have to stop daydreaming whilst im in work.

its a bit of craic, i watch overhaulin' for the more nuts and bolts, and the latest season has been better now they dont prank the mark anymore. I'm not the biggest petrolhead, but i know what i like, and i like what Chip and Aaron do.

I know Richard is annoying, but i cant help but like the guy.

Aaron is just cooler doing it with that beard.

Bump to say new episodes airing tonight in the US. We might find out what they did with that crashed F40!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Muckie

    Not a bad program.

Wonder what happened to the crash Mustang, they took for a test drive

just before they were about to sell.

I presume they 'parted it out'? I know it was a write off and he was saying they were 30k down but I am guessing the could break it and sell of the engine, wheels, interior etc.. and make some of it back.

I would say the standard of finish on the cars is good. I watch a couple of those shows where they have a budget of 5-10k to restore a car... on F'n'L that would be the paint budget.

according to their facebook page they "sold" it. cant remember if they fixed it up to sell or sold as was.... but they sure took a hit either way.

theres a clip online of them attempting to fix (through a third party) the F40 frame, with the experts saying in 30 years of fixing its one of the worst frames they've come across. should be interesting.

    Too late.

Given Richard's background, he's extremely business savvy. I doubt it will go the same way in terms of debt etc.

Done up, but not as original.

Another typical yank "we've only got how many days to build ?" show......a good show still, but you just know most of it is scripted.....like Counting cars...which is also good to watch but the half hour is too short..reckon they'll get a hour long programme soon...

Anyone watch 'Desert Car Kings'? I'd say the restorations on them are pretty rough...

Watched a few shows, another Father & Son Team effort.

Not bad, but some staged moments, which is a shame, guess thats the way of

    alot of "reality" tv.

    Entertaining enough.

Yeah, I watched a few episodes unti one time when they removed the curved glass off the back of a hatchback type car (can't remember makes or models) and they were at pains to stress to be careful with it, next thing one of the guys takes off a bumper and leaves it leaning against a pillar, lo and behold someone trips on the bumper which falls on the glass on the floor smashing it, cue really bad concerned looks on all their faces.

I enjoy F'n'L mostly for Aaron who seems to have a bit of personality about him and Richard has the odd good joke.

Since the move to the HQ they've ramped up the wackiness of the show, I think they dont want people to take them too seriously. def scripted in points, or just very cleverly edited.

Tom is fast becoming a breakout star, he must have took way too much acid as a kid, i love him. I cant tell if he's actually that weird or playing it up for the camera.

KC is a sarcastic bastard too.

I love this show...they're some "gas" men!!!
Pity about the Mustang and Richard's bad luck at auctions but to be fair, he has moved into a bigger garage....thing will hopefully pick up for them now and maybe there will be a few more top end cars coming through.

    I really like it
It's a bit of a laugh and Richard loose his ass on loads of cars which is great to watch him crack up

Gas Monkey Bar and Grill has made an appearance in the latest ones.

I must admit to liking the show; I find Overhaulin quite tiresome as the 70s muscle car thing does nothing for me, more personality in the older stuff on Fast n Loud. Plus the
