reduction in hours

Hi, I've recently returned to work after maternity to my contract of 2 days a week at 4 hours a day, the company I work for are renegotiating contracts and have offered me a contract at less hours it would be roughly 3 hours a day. circumstances have changed for me on one of these days my mum who watched my kids for me is no longer in a position healthwise to do so. as it is a sunday I'm finding it near enough impossible to find a childminder to take them as it is I'm paying to go to work and though it may not seem much by the time you factor in diesel etc I'm working out worse off by quite a bit. If I dont take them up on this contract can I claim anything? I know I have to look into FIS as partner is in fulltime work. Is there anything else?

hi thanks for replying, i suppose its really for a deciding officer to decide whether im leaving work voluntarily or placing restrictions on myself so? the days they have offered me are the same i was hoping if they reduced my hours they would knock a day on the head

If you do need to leave, make sure you have all the paperwork from work for the SW officebefore your leave, ie old contract, the new contract offer, etc.
