Pipe Cutting

    Hey Guys,

Bought some desk stuff in Ikea over the weekend and the legs are way to long to suit where I need it.

Need to take a couple of inches off them. Anyone know where I might get use of a aluminium pipe cutter? 4 legs!

A bike shop was my first thought but nowhere near me had one.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Hacksaw will do the job nicely, it'll only take a few minutes per leg.

Wrap some tape around the pipe with one edge of the tape along the line you want to cut. The edge will give you a visual guide which you can cut long. Cut smoothly and slowly, checking regularly that you're not deviating from the tape edge. Clean up the burrs with a file.

Try any plumber who should have a suitable pipe cutting tool and even a garage that fits exhausts as there is a great little roller cutter tool used for cutting exhaust pipes very cleanly. One here as an example of what to look for.

Overkill. Go with slimjims suggestion. Hacksaw all the way.
