Hi I am currently working as a Security Officer I am lucky enough that I am based in a large multi national Pharma company and have received plenty training from them and sent on extra courses when I show an interest. I am a qualified engineer have a Honours Degree since 2007 but never managed to get experience now I find that my CV is only really has Security down on it and I can't see long term work in this area is not what I want to be at also technology is more and more replacing the need for security. Its not all bad from being a full time security officer I have managed to buy a house with a low mortgage of 370euro a month. We have two children one is two and one is 8 years old so we were never able to pack our bags in 2007 as the eldest was 3 and I had supported myself in college and raised the child with my gf.
I would love to chance moving careers now we have the house bought I know that its risky but with a low mortgage I reckon between us we will always manage. Anyone ever find themselves in similar situation working in low pay after college but eventually got going? Any advice whats the best route back towards good career. I have exhausted applying for positions as never get any reply and Pharma company I am based in have a recruitment freeze.
