P90 battery help

I picked up a second hand Marui P90 last year but haven't used it much as the battery that came with it is knackered and doesn't hold it's charge for more than a half hour. However I haven't been able to get a replacement as the standard battery is much smaller than my usual 9.6v batteries, which won't fit in the gun without leaving the butt plate off. Is there another option for powering this gun, I.e. lipo or life batteries? I use lipo batteries in my rc planes but have never used them in my aegs.

you can get a lipo (or life if you have one) battery in there, as long ass it fits that is. A 7.4 should be fine considering they're pretty much regarded as the equivalent of a decent 9.6V NiMH battery. If you're using them fr RC I'm sure you know what you're doing with the lipo's in regards to charging etc. :)

    Hi Cillian

Yeah I'm very familiar with lipos, and how dangerous they can be. A mate almost burned his house down when he left one charging unattended and it went up and took the curtains with it. I'm just afraid that a lipo might damage the internals of the gun.

As long as you have the correct charger and know when they are running low, they are fine, I use them and a friend has a TM P90 with a 7.4v Li-Po, wired to deans and getting around 21 BB's a sec without issue ;)

Also, a mosfet would be a good idea and not completely required, hope this helps :)

ah the danger comes from charging them, using an 7.4 should pose no threat to the internals of the gun at all, especially if it's a TM :)

Thanks Seals and Target. I'll pick up a 7.4 lipo and try it out.
