I have been out of school about 3 years now and been on the dole about 2 and a half years, I'm 21 years old and I'm really starting to worry about my future, The years seem tro be rollin on by, I'm also worried about how I look at employers after been out of work 3 years, I was wondering ho bad it looks?

Now saying that in the 3 years I have completed a 11 week 2007 ecdl course and a 6 week 2005 ecdl course and I have also worked 6 weeks for a postal company and done a 4 week jobs initiative course but other than that I'v done really nothing.. It's getting to the stage where i'd really take anything and also money is a big factor, I am absolutely broke everyweek.

I have always wanted to join the guards and that was my plan after school but since everything has slowed down im in abit of a rut..

    Advice please folks

What about a FAS course? Or a jobsbridge or CE. I know a job is your preference, but you need something to break your routine and widen your networks. If your heart is still on the Guards. Look at doing a security skills course, and perhaps do some voluntary work in the community. What about the Garda Reserves?

    What about the Garda Reserves?

I'd never be accepted, I'v read the Gardai threads on here and they are very choosy, I'd doubt i'd even get a look in..

I just want a job, College wouldnt do me either,School stressed me out and I hated education from a very young age, It really is a wonder I even finished the leaving cert. I Just feel like i'm in a trap.
