Why do you listen to it if you don't like it turn it off that's what the ON/OFF button is for

The last few have been poor indeed. Sometimes they hit it right though.

    "Funny" Friday?
    It's $hit.
    Even OAPs hate it.

Is that what I heard today...was going through the stations and someone was telling jokes. Heard one about the new Ikea store in Dublin, that there would be a North Ikea and a South Ikea. Total bantz!!!

I'd love to know RTÉ's budget for funny Friday. It's absolutely shocking.

It's a democracy, people who pay for this rubbish are entitled to complain about it. Simples!!

It seems obvious that Joe really likes the kind of material used. It comes from the same mould as many of Joe's own attempts at humour.

I don't like the stuff, and I suspect that I am with the majority in my opinion. I suspect that the "listenership" comprises a smallish number who like that sort of material, and a larger group who just leave the radio on without listening to it.

The last few have been very safe, nothing edgy or imaginative, Mom and Dad kind of humour. Maybe Joe puts the kibosh on the good stuff.

It's absolute rubbish, Joe and his cronies sitting around laughing at their own jokes while a bunch of oul wans cackle in the background.

Disgraceful stuff to be having in a prime radio slot when there's important issues to be discussed on a current affairs show.

What's most contemptible about the show is the fact that they populate the studio with the same faces and the same jokes... Somebody on the thread said the jokes were like Hal Roach's jokes... but they're wrong.. Hal Roach was actually funny!! The mother in law jokes from Syl Fox, and Clint VelWhore singing some Abba song with altered lyrics, Mary O'Rourke impressions that are so offensive (even though I hate the woman) that they could be material for Liveline for the other four days of the week... Simply just not funny.

I do love the Padraig Flynn bit, and Doc Savage's poetry is well .. savage.. but the rest of it is absolutely awful..

do RTE keep Mary o rourke on radio solely to keep using her in comedy routines ?

It's the only thing that makes sense now :D

That auld lad with the wheezey voice who laughs at his own stupid jokes is absolutely terrible. Mammy o Rourke is the only funny bit on it.

That'll be Doc Savage...nobody seems to have told him the first rule of stand-up is 'DO NOT LAUGH AT YOUR OWN JOKES'.

The only saving grace to funny Friday is that it's led to my discovery of the program on 4fm which is like Liveline where anything goes, Gerald Keane:eek: was discussing hookers last Friday with some tough lad from Limerick giving some poor Legion of Mary woman dogs abuse, perfect afternoon radio

    Desperately unfunny Friday.

While I'm here I might as well get it out, 3 things that send me running for the off button, Ray Foleys voice, funny Friday and the sunday miscellany.
